Since January, a committee of young Buddhists from around Scotland has been meeting monthly to study The New Human Revolution: a book looking at the real-world peace-building efforts of Daisaku Ikeda, who, as an ordinary citizen, travelled to places such as Russia and China to calm tensions and negotiate peace between the two countries.
From these meetings, a plan has emerged to hold accessible, public-facing events that allow people to connect with the spirit of Nichiren Buddhism to build bridges of trust in Scotland.
